L’\u00c9tat de Washington a \u00e9tabli un record mondial pour le rendement le plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 de pommes de terre par acre, avec une moyenne de 30 tonnes par acre, soit le double de la moyenne nationale aux \u00c9tats-Unis. Cette performance est attribu\u00e9e au climat favorable de l’\u00c9tat, \u00e0 la richesse de son sol volcanique, \u00e0 sa longue p\u00e9riode de v\u00e9g\u00e9tation et \u00e0 la disponibilit\u00e9 de l’eau. La production de pommes de terre de l’\u00c9tat de Washington est principalement concentr\u00e9e dans l’est de l’\u00c9tat et dans la vall\u00e9e de Skagit. L’\u00c9tat produit 20 % de toutes les pommes de terre am\u00e9ricaines, dont une grande partie est export\u00e9e \u00e0 l’\u00e9tranger, en particulier vers l’Asie.<\/p>\n
