Flikweert Vision produces 200th QualityGrader

October 23, 2024

Flikweert Vision recently celebrated a major achievement by producing the 200th Quality Grader, just three years after launching the first one. Initially designed for the optical sorting of unwashed potatoes, the Quality Grader has evolved into a versatile machine that can also sort onions and washed potatoes. The device has been widely adopted by companies around the world, from the United States to New Zealand.

Key developments include:

  • The Quality Grader was introduced in 2021, primarily for sorting unwashed potatoes, marking a significant innovation in the Dutch seed potato sector.
  • By 2023, the Quality Grader was adapted for sorting onions, which was quickly embraced by Dutch onion processors.
  • The technology has since expanded internationally, reaching markets in Germany, France, the UK, the USA, Canada, and Australia.
  • Continuous software improvements mean even the earliest machines benefit from the latest advancements.
  • Recent hardware upgrades doubled the number of cameras from three to six, increasing the precision of defect detection. Additionally, upgraded computing power has boosted the capacity to handle up to 20 tons per hour.

The 200th unit will be delivered to Albert Elligsen GmbH, a German packaging company specializing in potatoes and onions, which purchased four Quality Graders to reduce labor hours and enhance sorting efficiency.

This rapid progress highlights Flikweert Vision’s role in transforming agricultural sorting technology globally.
