Statistics Canada Releases 2009 Potato Production #’s
Canadian potato production for the 2009 growing season is 102,390,000 cwt., as compared to 103,560,000 cwt. in the 2008 crop season. This would equate to a 1% decrease in total Canadian production, Eastern Canada has, however produced 400,000 cwt. more potatoes than last year.
